She has been, without question, one of the hardest-working journalists throughout her award-winning career. The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n

We have updated our story and regret the error.<\/em><\/p>\n

A top Fox News anchor is departing the network after a decade in what appears to be dramatic fashion.<\/p>\n

Fox News Media announced on Thursday that longtime Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo is leaving the network, prompting questions about whether she would join the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

Fox News has already begun narrowing down candidates to host the three programs Bartiromo previously hosted.<\/p>\n

On the weekday program \u201cMornings with Maria\u201d on Fox Business, Bartiromo\u2019s last actual on-air appearance there was August 7, 2026.<\/p>\n

Although the program continued carrying her name through September 3, she was absent for nearly four weeks.<\/p>\n

During that absence, several Fox Business personalities filled in rather than one permanent substitute.<\/p>\n

Jackie DeAngelis hosted \u201cMornings with Maria\u201d on August 20, including leading the program\u2019s panels and interviews.<\/p>\n

Lauren Simonetti served as guest host, including on August 14.<\/p>\n

Cheryl Casone, a much more familiar face on Fox Business, also guest-hosted during Bartiromo\u2019s absence, including on August 27.<\/p>\n

So Casone, DeAngelis, and Simonetti appear to have been among the principal rotating fill-ins while Bartiromo was gone.<\/p>\n

Fox News announced on Thursday that Mornings with Maria becomes Mornings with FOX Business starting September 4, with rotating anchors.<\/p>\n

Bartiromo\u2019s Wall Street becomes FBN\u2019s Wall Street, with Cheryl Casone hosting September 4.<\/p>\n

Jason Chaffetz will host Sunday Morning Futures this Sunday, September 6, while Fox News searches for a permanent host.<\/p>\n

Bartiromo is considered one of the network\u2019s most high-profile hosts and has developed a strong rapport with the president over the last decade.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Fox News Media said, \u201cWe thank Maria for her work over the last 12 \u00bd years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bartiromo is considered one of the most influential figures in conservative media.<\/p>\n

Whether she decides to shift into a more political role remains to be determined.<\/p>\n

Bartiromo spent nearly four decades building one of the most recognizable careers in American financial journalism, breaking barriers on Wall Street before becoming a major force at Fox Business and Fox News.<\/p>\n

The Brooklyn-born journalist graduated from New York University, where she studied journalism and economics, a combination that would ultimately define her professional life.<\/p>\n

Bartiromo began her television career behind the scenes at CNN Business News, spending five years as a producer, writer, and assignment editor before leaping to CNBC in 1993.<\/p>\n

Her career changed dramatically in 1995 when Bartiromo became the first television journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange daily.<\/p>\n
