House Democrats are prepared to do absolutely nothing to help Americans if they regain the majority following the midterm elections.<\/p>\n

Instead, they are planning to use their newfound power to undermine President Donald Trump and members of his administration.<\/p>\n

House Democrats are preparing an extensive slate of investigations into President Donald Trump, members of his administration, and his family if they regain control of the House in November.<\/p>\n

Senior Democrats who could take control of powerful committees say they are already identifying potential investigations, gathering documents, speaking with whistleblowers, and sending information requests so they can move quickly if voters give their party the majority.<\/p>\n

The plans range from investigations into the business interests of the Trump family and the Jeffrey Epstein files to immigration enforcement, Pentagon contracting, Health and Human Services policies, and the conduct of senior administration officials.<\/p>\n

Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., currently the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, has been particularly explicit about what his committee would pursue.<\/p>\n

Garcia told reporters that several investigations are already at the top of his list.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne is going to be the Trump family corruption. The second will be the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Third will be ICE and DHS and the corruption happening there,\u201d Garcia said.<\/p>\n

He also said Democrats would examine corporations or executives they believe may have improperly benefited from government policies and scrutinize changes to federal vaccine policy under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/p>\n

Those statements describe allegations and areas Democrats want to investigate, not established findings of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

The White House and Trump allies have repeatedly rejected Democratic accusations of corruption and characterized many of the proposed investigations as politically motivated.<\/p>\n

Garcia has also said a Democratic-led Oversight Committee could seek testimony from Trump himself as part of its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

The Washington Post reported in March that Garcia said Democrats would \u201cabsolutely\u201d seek an interview with Trump regarding Epstein if they gain subpoena power.<\/p>\n

Trump has said he knew Epstein socially in Palm Beach decades ago but that the two later had a falling-out. Trump has denied knowing about Epstein\u2019s criminal conduct.<\/p>\n

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., who would be positioned to lead the House Judiciary Committee under a Democratic majority, has already begun examining several matters involving Trump\u2019s family and administration.<\/p>\n

Raskin has sought information about business dealings involving Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr., including Trump Jr.\u2019s association with investment firm 1789 Capital.<\/p>\n

The firm has pushed back strongly against Raskin\u2019s inquiry, accusing him of making inaccurate claims and pursuing a politically motivated investigation. Judiciary Committee Democrats have said they intend to continue examining the company\u2019s dealings.<\/p>\n

Democratic lawmakers have also questioned Pentagon financing and contracts involving businesses with connections to members of Trump\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., said he intends to begin with the Defense Department if Democrats take the House.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are very disturbing reports about ties between defense money and appropriations programs, and requests by the White House to funnel defense spending to certain companies linked to the Trump family,\u201d Crow told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to take a hard look at all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pentagon has previously said its investment office is committed to ethical standards and avoiding conflicts of interest. Companies and individuals involved in the investments have also disputed suggestions that federal decisions were improperly influenced.<\/p>\n

Health policy could become another major area of oversight.<\/p>\n

Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee have discussed investigations into Kennedy\u2019s handling of vaccines, Medicaid policy and prescription-drug initiatives.<\/p>\n

Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., has emphasized that controlling the committee would give Democrats subpoena authority they currently lack as the minority party.<\/p>\n

Immigration enforcement is another major target.<\/p>\n
